Various bits of PHP / HTML to customize this theme.

HTML

1. Manually add your own icons to the social list

In box.php search for this section:

<div class="social_list">
    <?php
    foreach ($social_items as $social_item)
        echo "<a href=\"{$social_item[0]}\"><span rel=\"{$social_item[1]}\" class=\"data-icon\" data-icon=\"{$social_item[1]}\" aria-hidden=\"true\"></span><span class=\"screen-reader-text\">{$social_item[2]}</span></a>";   ?>
 </div>
 <?php } ?>

and change it to something like this:

<div class="social_list">
    <?php
    foreach ($social_items as $social_item)
        echo "<a href=\"{$social_item[0]}\"><span rel=\"{$social_item[1]}\" class=\"data-icon\" data-icon=\"{$social_item[1]}\" aria-hidden=\"true\"></span><span class=\"screen-reader-text\">{$social_item[2]}</span></a>";
    }
echo '<a href="http://flickr.com"><img class="data-icon" src="http://mysite.com/myflickricon.png"></a>';
echo '<a href="http://500px.com"><img class="data-icon" src="http://mysite.com/my500pxicon.png"></a>';
echo '</div>'; ?>

Keep adding as many services as you want like the Flickr and 500px examples above. Note you set the URL and image here in the code, these won't show up as options in your Themedy Settings.

You'll find this same block of code twice in box.php, the first area is for the featured header, the second is for the area under a blog post. So change one or both depending on your needs.

2. Add featured image to header area on pages (like it does with posts)

Look at the "Single" template in the Thesis skin editor, and checkout the "Featured Post Image" box area - you must then edit the "Page" template and mimic this section as it is laid out in the single template.

The last step is to go into /wp-content/thesis/skins/splash-t2/skin.php and find & replace the two occurrences of:

is_single()

with:

is_single() || is_page()

3. Show more then 3 background slideshow images

There is a bit of a hacky way to show more then 3 images but it works. You can actually enter more then one image link in each box as long as you format things right. For example in the first image URL box you can enter:

http://static.themedy.com/splash/files/2013/09/image4.jpg","http://static.themedy.com/splash/files/2013/09/image2.jpg","http://static.themedy.com/splash/files/2013/09/image2.jpg","http://static.themedy.com/splash/files/2013/09/image2.jpg

It'll load those 4 images before it goes onto the "Image Two Url" box. The quotes are important - notice how there is no starting quote and no ending quote, but items in between have both the starting and ending quote - this needs to be done like this for it to work.

4. Open Social Links in New Window

Find this section near the end of box.php included with the theme:

<div class="social_list">
    <?php
    foreach ($social_items as $social_item)
    echo "<a href=\"{$social_item[0]}\"><span rel=\"{$social_item[1]}\" class=\"data-icon\" data-icon=\"{$social_item[1]}\" aria-hidden=\"true\"></span><span class=\"screen-reader-text\">{$social_item[2]}</span></a>";   ?>
</div>
    <?php } ?>

and change it to:

<div class="social_list">
    <?php
    foreach ($social_items as $social_item)
    echo "<a href=\"{$social_item[0]}\" target=\"_blank\"><span rel=\"{$social_item[1]}\" class=\"data-icon\" data-icon=\"{$social_item[1]}\" aria-hidden=\"true\"></span><span class=\"screen-reader-text\">{$social_item[2]}</span></a>"; ?>
</div>
    <?php } ?>
