FAQ

  • Q1: I uploaded my Header image in the Thesis -> Header Image screen but it's not showing up?
  • A1: Something went wrong in the installation process of the skin or this step was missed when upgrading from Thesis 2.0. To install the skin correctly you need to restore your defaults. Go to Thesis -> Skin Editor -> Manager and click the "Restore Defaults" button.

  • Q2: I used to use the Thesis post image settings in Thesis 1.X but can't now that the WordPress featured image tool has become standard. How do I fix this?

  • A2: Some plugins have been created by other sites for this issue, and some of our customers have said that they used them successfully like http://thesisimage.com/

  • Q3: My Thesis 2 skin design settings show up in preview but not on the live site?

  • A3: If you are using WordPress Multsite makes sure to add this rule to .htaccess:

    RewriteRule wp-content/thesis/skins/(.*)/css.css wp-admin/admin-post.php?action=thesis_do_css

Make sure to add it after this line:

RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]

If you are not using Multisite, finally clear any cache plugins you may use, including CloudFlare / Varnish etc. if you use any of those services or cache plugins.

If you are using NGINX instead of Apache the rule would be change:

location / {
    try_files $uri $uri/ /index.php?$args ;
}

to:

location / {
    try_files $uri $uri/ /index.php?$args ;
    rewrite wp-content/thesis/skins/(.*)/css.css /wp-admin/admin-post.php?action=thesis_do_css;
}

If you are not sure where to add this please ask your web host support to add it for you.
